Confirmation

Church confirmation is a sacred milestone in a person’s spiritual journey, marking the moment when an individual publicly affirms their faith and commitment to the teachings of the church. Following a period of study and reflection, confirmation allows participants—usually youth but sometimes adults—to deepen their understanding of scripture, worship, and the responsibilities of Christian life. Through prayer, the laying on of hands, and the presence of the congregation, confirmation symbolizes the strengthening of one’s relationship with God and the Holy Spirit. It is both a personal and communal celebration, affirming the individual’s place within the broader faith community.
